MRS. VERONICA SWARNAMUKHI

Sis. Veronica Swarnamukhi hails from a family of Film Artists and Film Producers from South India. She is Dr. Shoury Babu Kona's wife. The words: "EXQUISITE", "MARVELOUS", "ENCHANTING" and "CAPTIVATING" are inadequate to describe Swarnamukhi's Indian Classical dance- "BHARATANATYAM". She has REPRESENTED INDIA IN 52 COUNTRIES. She has mastered ALL THE 108 KARNAS as sculptured in Ancient Hindu temples, 2000 years ago, she was chosen as the "DANCE LAUREATE" of Tamil Nadu Government and was a recipient of the much coveted KALAIMAMANI Title. She won FIRST PRIZE in the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND DANCE FESTIVAL at ROME in the year of 1977.

Her International dance programmes were so hectic that she used to perform several times at London in the morning, at Paris in the afternoon and at Frankfurt in the night. She could conduct her dancing programs in 19 countries within a short period of 3 months every year. She established Dance Schools in U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Srilanka. Her dance performances won the appreciation of Presidents, Prime Ministers, and World Dignitaries. Several documentaries were made on her art and life. She was a leading exponent of the snake and peacock dance and she had performed in many films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
